Marysville Lions Club - Serving the Marysville Community since 1941.
Since being sponsored by the St. Clair Lions Club in 1941, the Marysville
Lions Club has continually striven to be active, helpful to those in need, and
in general an asset to our community.
A major objective of Lionism is the prevention of and the care for
blindness. In addition to annual contributions in support of Leader Dog
for the Blind and Welcome Home - retirement community for the visually
impaired, the Club collects used eyeglasses
for recycling and provide eyeglasses for needy children in our community.
The Club provides orthopedic equipment including wheelchairs, walkers,
crutches, and canes to community residents without charge.
The Club has sponsored Boy Scout Troop 216 for 59 years, and provided the
first Braille Scout Handbooks in the Blue Water Council for the use of blind
members of our troop.
Accomplishments include the erection of a memorial at Riverlawn Cemetery for
residents serving in the Armed Forces who died during World War II and in Viet
Nam, development of the 9-hole Riverview Golf Course, and erection of the
community picnic shelter and Lion fountain in the City Park. We have also
recently purchased two specialized bicycles for the Marysville Police
Department.
The Marysville Lions Club also sponsors the Marysville
Days Festival and Art in the Park.
